I stole - oops, I mean BORROWED - this chord sequence from a David Bowie song. I can’t remember what it’s called, and I’m willing to bet neither can David.

I wanted this one to be a driving road song, with the vocal and sax solo swimming above on a blanket of reverb.

The lyrics are improvised around a basic idea of someone fleeing in the dead of night, and the chorus appeared during the improvisation, which struck me as being jolly good luck.

Who is singing the song, and who are they singing it to, and where in the world are they, and why are they leaving? And does the music have cultural reference points that give you clues about your version of the story?
