A bit stuck for an idea I played some major scales against a simple drum loop, and it turned into this one. A sad but ultimately redemptive tale of a little boy who is punished for losing a dog. I’ll let this one unfold...

I went walking with our dog Towser
He chased a squirrel and away he fled
I was frightened, I couldn’t find him
I went home, told mum, she hit my head

Mum was livid, she said I’d ruined her life
And how woman was a dog’s best friend
She hit me some more, hit me to the floor
Locked me in the cupboard
For the whole weekend

Breakfast on Monday she gave me dog food

Though my tummy hurt
And she threatened to me
I decided I’d had enough
