I had two acoustic guitar ‘shapes’ approximately worked out. I decided to try to play these with a degree of improvisation around the rhythms, the fingerpicking patterns, and the notes, with the two minor key themes, one descending, one ascending, alternating, a question/answer approach.

Then I played around with echoes and popped one on that rolled around and tumbled and bubbled and tripped up and alongside the tunes.

Puts me in the mind of Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, Gorgon Giltrap - folks like that.

I couldn’t resist putting a happy ending on this one, bringing it back in the major key - a bit like the laughter at the end of the Beatles’ tune, ‘Within you, without you’.
