This one appeared, unbidden and bouncing like Tigger, when I awoke from a fitful slumber to find the phrase ‘floating goat on a boat’ going around and around in my silly head, accompanied by a simple percussive tune.

I liked the noise the words made – all those ‘oat’ sounds - and decided to make this one lyrically and musically naive and playful. So: the lyric, made from nursery rhyme bits, popular song titles, ‘oat’ rhymes, and advice to folks who own goats and boats, is utterly devoid of meaning. I like it a lot. It’s good to play in the sand pit sometimes.

A Bach-inspired musical snippet appears, all counterpoint and frilly bits, a deferential nod to a Beatles song where George Martin played some piano at half speed to provide a classical–style solo when played back at normal speed. Which song was that? You tell me...

You might like to while away some time trying to identify the songs referenced in the lyric. Without cheating by going on the Internet, you rascally oik.
