When I get on a keyboard and start doodling around with organ sounds I sometimes come over a bit weird and go slightly classical. So as an attempt at a spot of therapy, I came up with this very formal tune - possibly nicked from somebody or other’s cantata, opus or aria, though I couldn’t tell you which one.

A re-jigging around the orchestration behind the tune, trying to be like those classical chappies, and after a jolly fine time and some tweaking, there it was.

The title is a made up word, which sounds vaguely Italian or Spanish. I don’t know anybody called ‘Calmanita’, but if you do, you can tell her I wrote this for her, which should confuse her no end. Or maybe you have a friend called Anita who is always calm? Maybe.

A pleasing result, derivative of early classical music, I think it works well enough. Quite nice, quite nice...
